Way back (Oct 2009) I discovered Krazy Kat and contacted King Features about getting the rights to do a series of animated shorts based mostly on the original strips but to their credit I got a quick response, one which said no, we're in negotiations with Hollywood and you are nobody. Ok not quite so rude but it was a quick no.
Instead of leaving it at that I started doing some strips and it turned into more and then I figured I'd do the minimum of 24 (the number required for submission to King Features who own the characters)and so did that and submitted them, not recieving any response :( Still I sort of got on a roll and then ran out of steam and now just do one now and then.
As of April 7th 2010 I have about 50 done and they will be here and will add as I draw em. In the meantime look up some of the classic Herriman cartoons online. Well worth it!
