Darkwing Duck was our first character assignment and I went overboard with it but had
a lot of fun. By the end I could draw DW doing anything, from any angle, I've forgotten
now though I've forgotten. Still the skills are there, just dormant. Here a few of the
more than sixty pics I did. I should dig them out and scan more.
The first step in being able to animate a character is knowing it three dimensionally.
Of course the simpler the animation the less skilled the animator needs to be.

I think Fieval from An American Tail was our next character assignment, I did far less
drawings than I did of Darkwing but got much more expression, gesture and movement out of
my drawings.
A bad ol' puddy tat but we still love him, heck sometimes we wish he did catch and eat that little yellow
morsel called a Tweety Bird. Thought I had done ok with the assignment and I think Nick or Jim said
they're was no perspective, everything was flat so I quickly went and did the last pic shown here
of Tweety's view of Sylvester reaching up to the cage. The comment then was it was too uniform on
both sides. If being a good critic makes for a good teacher they were good.
